Get Out of Your Head

- Try focusing on something else. Some of my favorite distractions are going for coffee, baking, drawing, and exercising. Do whatever makes you happy at the time.

- Get into nature. Whether it is around the block for a walk or a trip to a park, getting some fresh air and sunshine is a great way to reset.

- Breathe. Take a few deep breaths. Focus on you breathing while you are doing the deep breathes.

- Focus on your senses. Focus on one sense at a time or do a grounding technique to bring you back into the moment. I am a huge fan of aroma therapy. It is typically my go to when I am focusing on one sense.

- Focus on what you are grateful for. Make a list of what you are grateful for. I try to include small things that are often taken for granted.

- Focus on forgiveness. Work on forgiving other people, as well as yourself. I have found forgiveness to be very freeing in my life.

- Talk about it. Call a trusted loved one and talk about it. Talking allows you to vent but also allows you to get feedback.

- Write about it. Writing often provides clarity about things as well as being a great release.
